About Maria

SSTS understands the importance of timely services, and offers immediate sessions.  Weekend appointments also available for your convenience.  

Maria Ashworth is a registered speech-language pathologist. This means she holds a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).  Maria completed her graduate training at the University of Alberta and since the time of her graduation in 2008, has worked in multiple settings including: preschool speech and language; hospital; education; and private practice.


Maria believes strongly in providing her clients with quality, evidence based services and adheres to best practice guidelines as set out by her regulatory college.  In order to ensure that the therapy approaches provided to her clients are based on evidence, Maria routinely attends conferences and workshops and will research and collaborate with fellow speech-language pathologists on an on-going basis.

SSTS provides treatment for the following: articulation, expressive and receptive communication, AAC, social skills, voice disorders, fluency disorder, literacy, stroke, dysarthria, aphasia, apraxia, ASD, Childhood Apraxia of Speech.
